Ted Hufton
|
Hello all
I am the Great Grandson of Ted Hufton (who some of you may know played for West Ham in the 1920's including the 1923 FA cup final)
He was awarded various caps and medals throughout his playing career which my Grandad sadly never saw (due to a family falling out) and we believe they have all since been sold at auction. Unfortunately the families concerned live miles and miles away from where we do so contact over the years has been limited.
I am writing on this forum just to find out if anyone has any information as to where I may be able to find any of these items or any further information
Many thanks.
Sam

Don't know if it helps much, but a google of Ted Hufton medals came up with these links. The first shows very recent interest in Ted's medals. Good luck.

Hi mate. The first and 3rd link I have tried to make contact with both people but have had nothing back yet. And the 2nd link is the occasion where my Granddads sister decided to sell such sentimental objects to a random person at an auction due to personal reasons. It just breaks all my families hearts that things like this have not been passed down the family like they should be!!
I'm still in hope I can manage to track down the elusive caps/medals!!

What the fuck?
A lot of the stuff got auctioned off a year or two ago. My direct family never had it.
I don't know if this is a wind up.

Apparently the Hufton's fell out over a squabble for Martin Peters shirt after a Tottenham game in the 70's.... ;)

I've traced the link back to a bank manager in Lagos so far and there the trail ends I'm afraid

It does amuse me how people get all affronted when heirlooms, money, property etc dont get passed to them just because they think they have a right as family. The old saying of you can choose your friends but you can't choose your family has meaning. Some families treat their relatives like shit yet expect everything to be left to them when they die. Reap what you sow
